FLYCKER X4-550 Explorer

FLYCKER X4-550

After testing many 350 mm size quads I think it would be interesting to review something bigger like the FLYCKER X4-550.

This new quadcopter from Flycker Intelligence is built based on the Scorpion-X4 550 mm carbon-fiber frame. For those who are interested to build their own quad, this can be also purchased separately. The biggest advantage of this lightweight air-frame is that it can be folded, making it extremely portable.

I’m sure that many of you had problems with the ugly landing skids which ruined your aerial videos. The designers of the FLYCKER X4-550 solved this issue by installing the gimbal in the front of the aircraft. Another advantage of this concept is that it uses low-profile landing skids which offer better stability during take-off and landing.

In case of signal loss, the quadcopter will hover for 30 seconds and after that will start to fly back to the take-off point.

The FLYCKER X4-550 is powered by a high capacity 4s 5200 mAh Li-Po battery which allows up to 17 min of flight time with about 1.8 kg take-off weight.
