DJI Phantom 3 case by Realacc

Realacc Phantom 3 case review

After you pay about $ 1000 for a quadcopter, you will want to carry and store your precious toy in the safest possible way. In my opinion, a hard case like this Realacc is the best solution for transporting your Phantom 3 quadcopter when you are traveling by car.

Until now, I stored my Phantom 3 Advanced in its original carton box because it seemed the best solution with zero additional costs. My backup solution for long-distance traveling was my Airport Helipak backpack, which is a versatile and comfortable Phantom 3 backpack. Unfortunately, besides being very expensive, it does not have the strength of a hard case so it can’t protect my quadcopter in case someone accidentally steps on it, for example.

If you have small kids who are in the age of curiosity, you should consider locking your quadcopter under the key. They can easily break sensitive pasts like the camera gimbal, one of the quad’s most expensive parts.

Realacc Phantom 3 case review

This DJI P3 case was offered by the courtesy of Banggood; thanks again for their support. When James saw my Phantom 3 Advanced review he asked me if I would be interested in reviewing some suitable cases and backpacks, too. I opted for this Realacc Phantom 3 case because I already have a nice backpack.

The case arrived in 20 days with regular shipping. It was packed in a protective cardboard box, and except for some minor scratches, there were no other significant damages during the overseas shipping.

Realacc P3 suitcase specifications

  • Material: Aluminum and laminated MDF (outside), EPP (inside);
  • Color: Black;
  • Size: Approx. 54.5 cm wide x 35 cm high x 24 cm deep;
  • Weight: 3.9 kg.

Frankly, I would have expected to find more aluminum in a case that is advertised as an “Aluminum Suitcase“. Except for the aluminum corner reinforcements, the case is made from some kind of laminated MDF. In the center of the front part is a big metal plate imprinted with the word “PHANTOM 3”.Realacc case review - First impressions

The net weight of the case is 3.9 Kg when it is fully loaded with my P3A and two batteries weigh about 6.3 Kg.

To protect the quadcopter and its accessories, the suitcase is upholstered on the inside with EPP foam. Besides the two main compartments (aircraft and transmitter) other 7 smaller compartments can store up to 4 flight batteries, battery chargers, propellers, and other smaller accessories (like filters and memory cards).

This Phantom 3 case accommodates:

  • DJI Phantom 3 quadcopter (Advanced or Professional);
  • Phantom 3 remote transmitter with phone/tablet holder;
  • Up to 5 pieces of flight batteries (one loaded into the aircraft);
  • DJI Phantom 3 battery charger;
  • At least 4 sets of Phantom 3 propellers.
  • Additional compartment for small accessories.Realacc Phantom 3 case accommodates

The suitcase handle is very comfortable, which is good because, unfortunately, you can’t attach a shoulder strap. Inside the case, I found two keys that allowed me to lock the case.

My DJI Phantom 3 fits tight into its dedicated compartment without falling out, even if the suitcase is reversed. I think there is enough space in the upper part so the quad can be loaded into the suitcase even with installed propellers, which is very convenient.

As you can see in the image below (picture taken by Michael Morgan), it looks like this Realacc case is also suitable for the DJI Phantom 4. This is great news for those planning to upgrade from Phantom 3 to Phantom 4 because they can continue to use the same quadcopter case.Phantom 4 hard case by Realacc

The drawback of the customized design is that the case is not suitable for all 350 mm-sized quadcopters. I tried to fit in my XK X380 and my FlyPro XEagle Sport quadcopters but without any success.
