K&F CONCEPT S12R Video Light review
Disclosure: I received this pocket 12W RGB video light as part of a product review collaboration with K&F CONCEPT. Product specs and quality may vary depending on the manufacturer’s reliability, so I cannot guarantee that you will receive a product that performs the same as presented in my article.
The S12R Video Light comes packaged in the standard white-and-orange box typical of K&F Concept products, and includes a charging cable and a hot shoe adapter (although mine came without it). The light panel features a smartphone-like form factor, measuring 150 × 80 × 18 mm and weighing approximately 190 grams. It has a standard 1/4″ tripod screw mount on both long edges, allowing easy installation and the ability to stack multiple units.
The user interface combines physical buttons with a clean OLED screen, making it both practical and easy to use. On the right side, arranged from top to bottom, you’ll find an adjustment dial, a mode button labeled “M,” a select button, and the power On/Off slider switch.
At the bottom, there are two USB ports: the USB-C port is used to charge the unit itself, while the USB-A port allows you to charge your phone, as the light panel also doubles as a power bank.
On the back, there’s a 1-inch color status display that keeps you informed at a glance. It clearly shows the current brightness level, selected color temperature, active working mode, and remaining battery life. The screen is easy to read and adds a layer of convenience, allowing you to make quick adjustments without guesswork, even while shooting.
On the front, a white diffuser softens the light of the 45 RGB LEDs behind it. According to the technical specifications, the panel has a 12W light output that can generate 2812 lux at 0.3 meters. The built-in 5000 mAh battery provides approximately 100 minutes of runtime.
