I started to write and share tips on FirstQuadcopter.com about two years ago. I'm a racing drone addicted, but I treat myself :D

  1. I got my Protek25 today and when I plugged in the battery it sparked a bit and a little smoke come out from the inside.
Can you guys please assist me how to get in the air?

    • Joshua Bardwell said that if you have a protek 25 you need to update the ESC firmware because there’s some issue with the factory one, that’s why it was sparkling. I tried to find the video, but it was taken down. Try searching protek 25 factory ESC firmware issues. Hope you will find a solution!

  2. The new iFlight ProTek35 HD, 6S edition, comes with the latest Nebula Nano Digital HD System and 2205 2300KV motors.
    Sweet!

  3. After smoky-black colour, iFlight released yellow, and now green Protek25 and Protek35. Great to have multiple colour options.

  4. I have an issue with Protek35 without gopro 1500/100C battery 3.5 minutes flight! Can you share your firmware dump?

  5. After 4 hours and trying 3 different radios I think I’ll just send the Protek25 back. It will not bind to any radio we’ve tried and the hours wasted just made this no so great of a deal.

  6. The new iFlight Protek35 Yellow 2021 comes with the following upgraded features:

    – Improved PROP GUARDS V2.0 (Material optimized);
    – No Props or frame in view
    – High-performance True-AIO Board Beast Whoop F7 AIO 45A to save weight and space
    – T700 Quality Carbon (40% more tensile strength compared to common 3K carbon)
    – Lightweight one-piece frame design (Less flexibility, more Rigid, more Durable)
    – Low Resonance frame construction (Less Jello, more Cinematic footage)
    – Butter smooth 2203.5 3600KV (4S)
    – Pre-tuned with smooth freestyle settings
    – Analog and HD digital options

  7. Hi there.
I have the Protek 35 and after a factory reset with the dump file (https://iflightrc.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/48001148115-firmware-wiring-factory-dumps) the motors are not spinning unless I set Dshot 300 instead of Dshot 600, which is the default setting. I have also noticed that the flight time with the GoPro (hero 6) is far too short from what others normally get (around 2,5 min). I don’t know exactly if those things are connected but I would really appreciate any suggestion to get back the standard configuration of the drone.
    Thanks in advance!

  8. Another Protek issue, I got a warning notification “core temp 70 °”. It always appears when flying… Other Protek35 pilots also have this problem?

      • I think it is very important to monitor core temperature. One of my drones got so hot that the capacitor melted down from the FC. It crashed and remained with the battery connected, it took more than 15 minutes till I found it…..

  9. I was also an exploding ESC victim and I need to replace the board. There is any Protek25 compatible ESC that lasts more than a few flights?

  10. I just did some battery life tests with the Protek35 and a 4s 1500 battery.
    – 9 minutes with no camera
    – 5 minutes with Gopro Hero 9 on top.

  11. My Protek25 just had its ESC blown up. It crashed and some smoke came out from the drone. I use it with a 4S/650mAh pack so not an over-voltage issue. I have lots of FPVs but never happed such a thing… hardware failure midflight?

  12. I got the ProTek35 a few days ago. It is a great freestyle drone out of the box. It can definitely fly faster than I expected!

  13. I’m testing a bunch of props on my 2.5” iflight Protek.
What’s the best 3 or 4 blades? I think with 2leaf it would too fast

    • FirstQuadcopter is a blog, we are not selling anything!
In case you are interested in purchasing you should contact iFlight or one of their distributors.

    • iFlight suggests using a 4S/850mA battery with their ProTek25. It is possible to work with 3s as well, but probably will be underpowered…
