As mentioned in my previous article, I stopped using analog FPV drones about a year ago and either sold or converted all my gear to HD digital. I was surprised when I read about the release of the new iFlight Skyviz, especially given its high price tag. Like me, many others have probably switched to either the DJI Air Unit or Walksnail Avatar HD, so I’m not sure who they intend to target with this product.
This morning, when I tried to access the iFlight website to learn more about the Skyviz FPV goggles, it was down. I checked again after one hour, and it was still unavailable. Hopefully, it will be back online soon and wasn’t hacked — or worse, that the company exited the FPV market.
The iFlight Skyviz features two Full HD (1920×1080) Micro-OLED screens with a refresh rate of up to 100Hz. The pupillary distance can be adjusted within a range of 56–72mm, and the diopter from +2.0D to -7.0D. The headset can be powered from an external 2- 6S battery.
In my opinion, the only features worth considering when buying the Skyviz FPV goggles are the built-in Fusion receiver and the HDMI input port, which allows the use of external digital FPV receivers such as the Walksnail VRX or HDZero VRX.
