Eachine E58: another Mavic clone

Following the success of Visuo, Eachine also announced their own Mavic Pro clone. The E58 follows similar foldable design as the much expensive DJI drone. Of course, the specifications are much poorer and comes with less reliable brushed motors instead of brush-less ones.

Thanks to the barometric air-pressure sensor, the Eachine E58 quadcopter is capable to autonomously maintain its flight altitude at the desired level. Headless mode is another feature that makes flight more easy.

Eachine advertises the E58 drone in two variants. One with 0.3Mp camera and one with HD 720P camera. Both versions are powered by the same type of 500 mAh Li-Po battery.

Additional to the included remote controller, the Eachine E58 can be also controlled through smartphone APP. Kids will love to control the aircraft movements through their phone Gyro sensor.

Eachine E58 features and specs

  • Mavic alike foldable design;
  • Easy to replace brushed motors;
  • Barometric altitude hold;
  • Headless flight;
  • One key return to home;
  • Emergency stop button;
  • One key Take off / Landing;
  • 3-levels of speed rates;
  • Optional 720P or 0.3MP camera;
  • WiFi real-time image transmission;
  • Smartphone APP control (Virtual sticks or Gyro sensor);
  • About 7~9 minutes of play time;
  • Up to 100 meters control range.

During night flights you will be guided by 4 LED lights, one under each arm. Like the VISUO XS809HW, the Eachine E58 also has two additional frontal lights which helps newbies to track the orientation of the aircraft.

Now, during Banggood Xmas sales, you can find it with 2MP camera and 3 batteries for $54.99 (including free shipping). Spare parts (like: motors, camera, flight controller, fuselage), transmitter and carrying case can be found here.

  1. I have the same issue I read above. When I start to flying, the drone goes away, without responding to any command. I reset the gyro, and don’t know what to do anymore. Maybe it has the gyro damaged?

  2. My Eachine 58 has started to malfunction..when I try to fly it, instead of lifting off it starts heading along the ground in the direction of the rear right motor as this motor seems to ‘lead’ making the drone go in that direction.I have tried re calibration but without success. Can any one please assist.

  3. I decided to buy Drone x Pro as a first one for me – to learn how it works. I connect it by WiFi to phone app. BUT there is no picture from the camera. I can rule it, but can’t see anything through the camera… Any suggest or advice? Thank you in advance!

  4. Hi,

    I’ve just purchased a Drone x Pro off eBay (new) and charged the battery but nothing happens when I push the button on the top any ideas gratefully received?

    Thanks,

    • At first sight, the Drone X Pro is almost identical with the Eachine E58. Why did you opted for that model? it is much expensive and probably no aftermarket support….
      Firstly, you will need to measure the voltage of the battery, if it shows 4.2 volt it is ok. if its under 3.7 the battery is dead and you have luck, you will need a new one. If the battery is OK, you will need to open the drone and check for faulty wires. check first the power button wires. if you din’t find anything subspecies, probably the main board is dead :(

      But! best would be to contact the seller and request a refund or warranty replacement.

      good luck!

  5. Got one recently and am impressed with the package. Loved the included 2 extra batteries. Noticed that it has a microSD card slot but nothing in the included manual mentions it or how to use it. Is it used automatically to record video/photos? Does one need to format the card via the app? Whats the recommended specs for the card?
    The materials used for the highly vulnerable parts like the props and hub are way too brittle. Had to replace 2 hubs and 3 prop blades after just a couple of days of gentle use.
    Grand kids love it nonetheless.

    • HI Philip, any small capacity (2 – 8GB) micro SD card should be fine. You can try to format it fat32 (also NTFS). And check which one is working. As i remember from my E58 review, it is able to record to micro SD only triggered through APP, the buttons on the RC have no effect :(

  6. Looks amazing, moves like a professional drone, takes solid pictures. And I’ve never had a problem with range. It does what it says plus looks like a mavic. Great price too. I really wish I could be a drone tester for these guys. Can’t wait to see an updated version maybe carbon fiber. So so cool!

  7. Just receive it. The aircraft is smaller than expected. Transmitter quality is very toyish. Anyway, For the price it’s worth it! My suggestion for best performance is to calibrate the Eachine E58 before flying.
    Camera is not good for any professional aerial filming, but OK to play around.
    Couple of spare batteries highly recommended!
