While searching for components for my next long-range FPV project, I came across the SinYiN SLink, a new digital FPV system that appears ready to challenge a market dominated by DJI and Walksnail. On paper, it looks like a compelling alternative to the Walksnail Avatar GT2, which we reviewed on FirstQuadcopter just last month. With promising specifications, the SLink could become an interesting option for pilots looking beyond the established players.
The SinYiN SLink VTX (Air Unit) delivers up to 1W of transmission power, with the manufacturer claiming a range of 5 to 30 km under ideal conditions. Until recently, such long-range flights were mostly the territory of analog FPV systems. However, pilots should keep in mind that using the full 1W output may not be legal everywhere. In many European countries, license-free operation in the 5.8 GHz band is typically limited to 25 mW EIRP, while higher power levels may require specific authorization or fall outside the regulations for consumer FPV equipment.
One of the first things that caught my attention was just how compact the SLink Air Unit is. Weighing only 8.2 grams and measuring 29.5 × 29.5 mm, it can be squeezed into almost any build without a second thought. The standard 25.5 × 25.5 mm mounting pattern means installation is straightforward, while the wide 5V to 26V input range allows it to be powered directly from anything up to a 6S LiPo. Even better, pilots using Betaflight or INAV will feel right at home, as the unit supports the MSP OSD protocol out of the box, providing full telemetry overlay on screen from the very first flight, with no complicated setup or tinkering required.
SinYiN SLink Hardware Lineup: VTXs (Air Unit), VRXs (Ground Unit) & More
Like any FPV system, the SinYiN SLink ecosystem includes a camera, an Air Unit (VTX), and a Ground Unit (VRX). The ecosystem does not include compatible FPV goggles, at least for now.
There are two transmitter models: the SLink VTX Dual and the SLink VTX Dual Pro. The initial specifications do not clearly show the actual differences between the two versions. Both come with the same camera and dual-antenna system. The Pro version appears to feature a larger heat sink, indicating better thermal management and possibly higher output power. Both units promise a low-latency 60 ms transmission link and onboard 1080p@60fps DVR recording.
The Ground Unit also comes in two versions: the SLink VRX Dual and VRX Dual Pro. Both units feature active cooling and can be powered via a USB Type-C port. They also include an HDMI output, allowing you to connect an external display or FPV goggles with HDMI input. I don’t know how much latency this approach adds to the video feed, but it is clearly aimed more at long-range flying than freestyle or racing drones.
Pricing, Availability, and Options
Starting in July 2026, the SinYiN SLink ecosystem is available in five different kit configurations to suit a variety of FPV pilots and budgets. Buyers can choose between two complete bundle options that include the camera, Air Unit (VTX), and Ground Unit (VRX): the Standard Bundle, priced at $253.07, and the more advanced Pro Bundle, available for $345.35. For those who already own a compatible receiver or want to build more compatible drones, standalone Camera + VTX kits are also offered, with prices starting at just $123.35.
