JJRC H8D – First person view quadcopter

From an unknown manufacturer, JJRC becomes a consecrate name in the world of multi-rotors hobbyists. They lunch new quadcopter models almost every month and one of them, the JJRC H8D, with its floral red and orange colors, will be the quad of May.

Frankly, there is no much innovation on this H8D, practically is a mix of older JJRC quadcopter models. The frame is borrowed from the H8C but keeping the safe 3.7V system power to prevent the premature motor fails. JJRC H12C users will recognize their transmitter because this new JJRC H8D uses the same 2.4Ghz remote controller. Actually, I think this is the best JJRC transmitter because it has reversible sticks (for mod1 and mod2) and dial button for gradual flight speed adjustments. On top of the transmitter can be mounted the 5.8GHz FPV LCD display with build in battery and shads.

I’m very curious how accurate can work the H8D’s return to home function without a real GPS positioning system, anyway, with 100-150 flight range, you probably don’t need such a feature.

  1. My H8D had a DOA wonky transmitter that switched modes when you pressed the video button.
    That caused crash & burned motor 1st flight.
    Shoddy Junk!

  2. Bought a H8D, after maybe 20 mins total flying time, it turned itself upside down and went into a tree. Heard one engine spinning all the time, not possible to control it with the remote. After using a long stick, I was able to get it down. One engine was burning hot, some plastic was a little melted so one axel are not aligned. That hot engine is dead so I had to order new one (+ spare). 7.4 volt battery , not 3.7.
    Great flyer, short battery time so I will try to use two, 5 mins + is a very short time, specially if doing some high altitude photo.
    As far as I have noticed, it has no low battery warning (beep), it just fall from the sky (LED’s are blinking when lowbat but you don’t see it in daylight and 50 meters away).
    Have used a Denver DCH-330 before, no engine failure(2-3 hours flying time), beeps lowbat (approx 45 sec left), reliable.
