Syma X5HW quad with WiFi FPV

Syma X5HW quadcopter

A few months ago Syma announced their upgraded X5 series with altitude hold. In my opinion, this Syma X5HW quadcopter not only it features newer technologies but also looks better than its predecessor.

Certainly, over time Syma manufactured many interesting models, from small ones like the mini X12 to the much bigger ones like the X8W (aka Poor Man’s Phantom). While they constantly try to improve their existing product line by adding new feathers, they also surprise us with completely new product designs.

The biggest advantage of this new model is the integrated barometric sensor which allows the Syma X5HW to maintain its flight altitude stable at the desired level.

Powered by a small capacity 500mA Li-Po battery, the flight autonomy of the X5HW is about 5-7 minutes. Luckily the battery is removable so you can always have a couple of spare ones charged and ready for a more fun time.

The Syma X5HW quad is equipped with a 0.3MP WiFi FPV camera which allows to capture of aerial videos as well as still photos. Certainly, for these days, the 0.3MP does not look too good. I would have expected at least a 2MP HD camera.

Yesterday, Elliot from GearBest contacted me and asked nicely to share the information that they have this new model in stock for $67.99. BTW, the X5HW is available in blue and white/green colors.

Two years ago I started my journey in the world of quad-copters with a Syma drone, I highly recommend their quads for newbies because they are affordable and good to learn on.

  1. Hi. I am having a very weird problem with my Syma X5HW quadcopter. As soon as I fly it up, it starts flashing slow as if battery is low even though I fully charged and tested my battery. Battery is fine. When I plug in the battery for charging, it shows that the battery is fully charged.
Kindly help me out if the problem is with the quadcopter chipset or battery?
    Thanks
